Original French Vintage Drawing of a Womans Portrait Framed and Signed
A french sketch of a girl framed in a gold frame. This painting is from the 1960s and signed by the artist Gerard Calvet (1926-2017). This piece has some signed of it's age, please see all photos. A small bio about Gerard Calvet is below, where he had spent most of his life living in Montpellier, we did find this artists sketch in a little antique shop, not too far away in Toulouse.
About the Artist Gerard Cavlet (1926-2017):
After his studies at the Lycée de Carcassonne , he entered the Beaux-Arts de Paris , in 1945 until 1950, as a full student in the studio of Eugène Narbonne. He painted in the Latin Quarter in Paris until 1951, then settled in 1952 in Montpellier , where he has painted since.
He participated in the main Parisian salons (Comparaison , Indépendants , Automne ) and in 1965 in the Peintres témoins de leur temps, joined the Montpellier-sète group. Considered a figurative painter, his works are presented at the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Royal Swedish Museum in Stockholm , the Louisana Humleback Museum in Denmark , museums in Montpellier , Nice , Rodez , Béziers , Narbonne , Sète , Frontignan , and the Languedoc-Roussillon Regional Hotel.
Alongside his work as a painter, he created theatre sets and costumes, notably for the Printemps des Comédiens from 1988 to 1991, as well as posters: SNCF Pyrénées, Languedoc-Roussillon region. Member of the Academy of Sciences and Letters of Montpellier , he was made a knight of the Legion of Honor onAugust 4, 2011.

In the UK, it is not "FREE" but there is a reduced VAT of 5% paid at import.
