antique-french-dark-moody-floral-oil-60724
Antique French Dark Moody Floral Oil Painting | in Gold Frame

A magnificent French floral still life dating 1902, filled with an exuberant arrangement of flowers emerging dramatically from a deep, atmospheric background. The painting is presented in an especially beautiful Empire-style gilt frame with elaborate corner ornamentation. It has recently undergone extensive professional restoration, including relining, a full cleaning and a new varnish.

The composition is wonderfully abundant. Large roses, chrysanthemums and anemone-like blooms dominate the centre, surrounded by smaller yellow, red, blue and white flowers. Long stems rise above the main arrangement, while foliage and smaller blossoms tumble downward toward the base, creating an almost cascading composition. Against the dark brown and charcoal background, the flowers appear particularly luminous.

Importantly, the painting has recently undergone extensive professional restoration. The canvas has been relined (re-canvassed), the painted surface has received a full cleaning, and a fresh protective varnish has been applied. The restoration has brought renewed clarity and depth to the colours while helping to preserve the painting for the future.

Sizing incl Frame:
Height: 24.80 inch (63cm)
Width: 20.47 inch (52cm)
Depth: 2.56 inch (6.5cm)

Sizing Painting:
Height: 19.49 inch (49.5cm)
Width: 14.76 inch (37.5cm)
FREE International Shipping

Follow us on IG: amsterdam_curated

Insurance:
All products are shipped in good boxes and very well packaged.

All products are shipped fully insured for international shipping.
