Vintage French Post Impressionist Still Life Oil Painting with Reflective Vase
Dating from around 1950, a lovely post-impressionist food still life oil painting depicting a table with a jug, bowl and apples. The colours are incredibly interesting and you can see this artist is trying hard to find his artistic path. In this painting the artist is inspired by colours from Cezanne and Gauguin, some brushwork from Pissaro and Van Gogh. He uses the silver pot on the table to show the reflection in the room as many of the impressionists do to create the sense of atmosphere. This vintage oil painting dates from around 195- and comes from France. Signed in the bottom right corner. A great piece to have in your kitchen or dining room. Comes in a lovely gold Montparnasse frame. Some smalls signs of age, nothing major. Please see all photos.
