Pulitzer Amsterdam and Amsterdam Curated collaborated on an amazing project to redesign one of the hotels luxury suites into the "Flower Collectors Suite" through layering amazing antique flower oil paintings on the walls.
The Pulitzer Hotel is a luxury five-star hotel located in the heart of Amsterdam’s historic canal district. Just a couple minutes walk away from the Amsterdam Curated offices. The hotel's history began in 1970, when Peter Pulitzer saw potential in Amsterdam’s historic yet neglected canal houses, which he then transformed into the city’s first five-star hotel.
Peter Pulitzer believed in preserving the unique charm of these historic buildings and continued expanding the hotel over the years. By the early 2000s, the hotel had grown to include 25 interconnected buildings.
Renovations and Modernisation
In 2015-2016, Pulitzer Amsterdam underwent its most extensive renovation to date. The restoration, led by talented Creative Director Jacu Strauss, carefully blended the heritage and character of the canal houses with modern luxury. Inspired by Amsterdam’s art, history, and architecture, the redesign preserved the original charm of the buildings while adding contemporary elements.
The Pulitzer Hotel located in Amsterdam's historic canal belt offers a unique blend of heritage and contemporary luxury. Among its distinctive accommodations, the Flower Collector's Suite stands out as a tribute to the city's rich botanical heritage. Opened in March 2024, this suite draws inspiration from the 19th-century tulip traders, immersing guests in a floral fantasy that transcends seasons.

Jacu Strauss reached out to Amsterdam Curated to support with supplying original oil paintings for this amazing project. As we love working with our neighbours, we were very honoured to support Jacu and the Pulitzer in this celebration of Floral Art. We were even able to just walk the paintings over to the hotel instead of shipping across the world. The Flower collector's suite shows how much impact a floral theme gallery wall has on a room. The dark background makes the work stand out and creates a perfect harmony within the Suite. A nights stay is a literal dream for any art and flower lover staying in Amsterdam.
