1940 WWII Swiss Military Issued - Vintage Wooden Mountaineering Snowshoes
These World War II vintage snowshoes are an incredibly rare find, they were hand made in the 1940's for the Swiss Military Mountain Troops. Strong cotton rope is used for the bindings and forged metal cleats on the bottom side. A great piece of wall design and decoration for your home or lodge.
These snow shoes were only produced in one size and in one design issued by the Swiss military to their manufacturers. The two snow shoes in this listing, have slightly different makers marks on them. Because they're all exactly the same wood, design and size they were usually not stored together as a pair when the Swiss mountain troops would return to base.
Due to Switzerland never entering the war, these snowshoes are used but still in good condition. Please see all photos.
