Good antique condition. Paint surface remains stable and the painting has just been for a visit to our restorer for a professional cleaning and new varnish applied. The frame shows expected patina and minor wear, enhancing its period character. The painting is housed in its original ornate gilt frame, richly carved with foliate motifs and softened by a warm antique patina. The frame complements the depth of colour and texture in the painting and gives the work a strong decorative presence.
