Circa 1810: Napoleon I - Antique French Pastoral Landscape Oil Painting in Gilt Gold Frame

$1,374.00
Tax included.

Circa 1810 - This antique French oil painting is of a serene French countryside village. It looks like there is a Napoleon (I) line soldier (Grenadier) resting and you can see a boat in the distance. This is a traditional early 19th Century pastoral French landscape coming in an Empire ornate gold gild frame. Typical of the art of the time the French Aristocracy would have made for their country estate homes, very well painted. When we look at the back of the painting to date it, it's pretty clear to us it's very early 19th Century French but thankfully the uniform of the French Soldier does also date the painting as that uniform was worn by Napoleons 1s, army from 1800-1815. A wonderful Heirloom painting that has lasted 200 years and hopefully will have another 200 in your family. Some signs of age but in overall good condition. We can see this painting has been to the restorer within the last 5-10 years and is in good overall condition. Please see all photos.

A very nice size. At 26 inches wide (66cm), the painting is present on a wall without dominating the whole space.
