19th Century French Needlework of a Floral Basket. Antique Textiles in Original Gilt Frame

$838.00
Tax included.

A beautiful 19th-century French needlework depicting a basket overflowing with flowers, presented on moiré silk and housed in its original gilt frame. Recently opened by a professional restorer for interior glass cleaning, ensuring clarity and preservation.

This elegant French needlework features a finely stitched basket of flowers, roses, foliage, seed pods and delicate blossoms—all rendered in soft, muted 19th-century tones. The embroidery sits against a shimmering moiré silk ground, a luxurious fabric commonly used in refined decorative textiles of the period. The composition is highly decorative: a woven basket rests on an abstract patterned ground, while the bouquet rises in a natural, almost painterly arrangement. The stitching is dense and detailed, showing skilled handwork and subtle variations of colour and texture. The piece is framed under glass in its original gold frame, simple and refined in design.
