A beautiful oil painting of a young woman in a lovely silk blue dress. This Antique oil painting comes from France and dates from around the mid-19th century. If we use her clothing as an indicator, she's dressed as a young Parisian upper class from around 1850. These types of small portraits would be done by the families to mark an important time in their life. The depth of colours and the lace work is great.
This antique painting has a repair on the back but isn't very noticeable in the front of the work. This portrait oil painting is unsigned and comes in its original antique gold frame.
This painting has recently been to the restorer for a professional cleaning and new varnish. If kept in a smoke free home the varnish should last another 50 years before needing another professional cleaning. A painting ready to be enjoyed by future generations.
