A striking large early 19th century French floral still life, painted against a deep, dark ground with richly coloured blooms. Recently professionally restored, this large antique painting has strong presence and Old Master character.

The arrangement features a variety of blooms including tulips, roses, and other seasonal flowers, rendered in warm tones of red, pink, blue, and cream. Emerging from the dark background, the flowers appear almost illuminated, creating a dramatic contrast that draws the viewer in. The composition reflects the enduring influence of earlier Dutch and Flemish still life traditions, while maintaining a distinctly French sensitivity in its softer transitions and handling by a French academy trained artist.

The artist has carefully balanced colour and form, allowing the bouquet to feel both abundant and harmonious. A: As we do package all items very carefully with large amounts of quality packing materials, in the odd situation you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact our customer service team within 3 days of delivery with your order number and a description of the issue. We will provide instructions for returning the item at our expense and arrange for a replacement or refund.
