This lovely original French antique oil painting dates from the 19th century (Circa 1860-1880). A beautiful moody piece that would look great in any room. The painting has wonderful greens and greys on a typical Autumn day in northern France. Painted in a late period Barbizon landscape style when the Barbizon painters started using a heavier brush and thicker stokes inline with what the impressionists were doing. Camille Carot who was the primary founder of the Barbizon School didn't deviate too far into impressionism but nearly all that he had trained and painted together with him did. This antique oil painting has had some repairs in the past, not very noticeable on the front. Comes in a beautiful antique frame. This antique painting is ready to be hang and to be enjoyed for generations to come.
