Circe 1900 - Antique French Floral Still Life Study Oil on Painters Board

$742.00 Sold out
Tax included.

A beautifully painted French still life study, this painting is dating from early 1900s and we found it in Paris. This would have been a still life artist working board. We often get a lot of artists sketchbooks and see these types of books in chalk and pencil very often. Not often at all do we see these types of studies done in Oil paint. I can certainly appreciate the artist training to paint the flowers from sides and the back. It is much more challenging to paint from the sides and back of a flower than straight on. This is original oil painting is on board and in a frame that also dates from 1900-1920. It has recently been to the restorer for a professional cleaning and new varnish, please see all photos.
