A lovely large sized 19th Century (Circa 1880) French Still Life Oil Painting. This painting is an antique reproduction of "Raisins et Grenades" (1763) by French artist Jean Siméon Chardin (1699-1779) and the original is displayed in Room 928 of the Sully Wing at the Louvre in Paris.

This is a very well done reproduction by an incredibly talented artist. Unfortunately our painting is unsigned, which is often the cast with these antique reproductions. This painting was likely done as a commission by a French artist for a wealthy Parisian who loved the painting seen at the Louvre and wanted it hanging on their own walls. Looking at the back of the canvas, we believe our painting would have been done in the between the years 1870-1890, the original arrived at The Louvre in 1869.

This moody antique painting would look great in a kitchen or dining room. Comes in a beautiful antique, gilt gold frame. Since the painting and frame are antique, they have some signs of their age. The painting has also recently been to the restorer for a professional cleaning and new varnish applied. Ready to hang and enjoyed by future generations within your family.
