Dated 1887 - Antique Cityscape Oil Painting of Venice and the Gondolas by Painter A Rueff
This antique oil painting dates from 1887 and appears to be a seascape painting of Venice. Likely painted across the water at the "Lido Di Venicia" port where the gondolas would pickup and drop off people going to and from the beach to the city. A beautiful serene painting with nice soft tones. Signed in the lower right corner "A. Rueff" and dated 1887. Comes in it's original gold gilt ornate frame. A. Rueff was a French painter who was quite active in southern France and Northern Italy in the late 19th Century. During his time in Venice in 1886-1887 he painted quite a few seascapes showing Venetian life on the water.
The painting and Frame have been recently cleaned and in overall good condition. If kept in a smoke free home, should last another 50 years without a professional cleaning.

Amsterdam Curated will provide the appropriate certifications for the customs officials to ensure all qualified items will be shipped with this “Duty Free” classification. In the UK, it is not "FREE" but there is a reduced VAT of 5% paid at import.
