A very lovely antique oil painting by the Belgian painter André Plumot (1829-1906). This dark and moody antique oil painting is depicting cows walking through a charming old town. The colours are lovely and the artist is incredibly talented. We went through his catalog in writing this and he has quite some excellent cow paintings hanging in museums in the Belgian and Norther France area. This piece is Signed by the French artist Andre Plumot and comes with the name plate put on by the original gallery selling the painting in the late 19th Century. This painting comes in an antique ornate gold gilt frame. This antique oil painting is ready to hang and become a heirloom painting in your home to be enjoyed for generations to come.

About the artist:
André Plumot (1829–1906) was a Belgian painter from Antwerp, trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts under Edward Dujardin and Jean Antoine Verschaeren. He began with 17th-century style interiors but, due to fragile health, turned increasingly to the countryside for inspiration, painting landscapes, animals, children, and rural scenes with a realist eye. Associated with the Campine plein-air painters, he exhibited widely in Belgium and abroad, earning recognition at the 1876 Philadelphia Exposition. His works, often calm and pastoral, reflect a meticulous attention to light and detail and remain appreciated in collections and at auction today.
