About Havard:
Surviving to this day, Havard stands as one of the few 19th-century Villedieu coppersmiths. The name "Normandy" owes its origin to the Vikings, who repeatedly invaded the region from the late 8th century through the 12th century. Håvard, a Norwegian name, appears in online genealogical records in Normandy as far back as the 16th century, and it is likely that the family's history predates that time. I

The Fonderie Cornille-Havard family's history dates back to Adolphe Havard, who took over a struggling bell foundry outside Villedieu in 1865 and relocated it to a newly constructed workshop. Towards the end of the 19th century, as Adolphe Havard and Léon Cornille were crafting bells, at least three other branches of the Havard family were working with copper. It appears that Eugène-François Havard (born 1856) established the firm that manufactured copper cookware under the Havard name. The company continues to make high quality copper cookware sold professional kitchens all over the world.
