Antique French Floral Still Life Dark Bouquet Oil Painting on Panel, French School Circa 1860

A richly textured 19th-century French floral still life, painted in the deep tonal palette of the Paris School tradition.

This atmospheric still life depicts a dense bouquet of dahlias and chrysanthemums in a glass vase, painted against a moody, dark background. The artist masterfully captured the weight of color and light typical of late 19th-century Paris ateliers, evoking the style of Fantin-Latour and other realist floral painters of the era. Executed on a wooden panel, the piece bears the patina of age with a wonderfully aged surface that adds depth and authenticity. A striking work of decorative and historical charm, framed in a heavy period gilt frame.

A charming French floral still life dating from the 19th century. The gorgeous high quality frame has some signs of it's age. Please see all photos.

Oil on panel, France, circa 1880–1890.
