Antique French Fruit Bowl Oil Painting, Gold Framed
A magnificent French still life dating from around 1850, depicting an abundant arrangement of peaches, pears, apples, grapes and other fruits overflowing from a classical stone compote. Beautifully detailed and wonderfully decorative, the painting is presented in an elegant period gilt frame that perfectly complements its mid-19th-century character.
Good antique condition with visible age-related craquelure and surface character consistent with a painting approximately 175 years old. The antique gilt frame retains a beautiful warm patina with minor historic wear and marks appropriate to its age.
