Dating from between 1850-1870 - This Mid 19th Century Antique is from the English Victorian era and is cold painted Spelter (Zinc-Lead Alloy) of a Crinoline Lady Holding Puppy.
This is a Match & Strike Figurine. The main purpose of this is to act as a match that will stay lit via a kerosene wick where one can light multiple candles. This of course was a normal thing in 150-180 years ago as there was no electrical lights. Only gas light or candle. The detachable wick slides neatly into its holder along the side of the fuel puppet. Towards the feet is where the wick would be lit.
This item has patina due to age but only makes it more charming.
