Dated 1842 - Antique Mid-19th century French portrait painting of a distinguished gentleman. The painting is French School but we believe the man is Italian. Lovely light and colour in the painting. A talented artist from nearly 200 years ago. The writing on the back is in French and the wax stamp is from Italy. We believe it's the historical wax seal the Italian government puts on paintings when they leave Italy. Oil on Board. Comes in a gold frame that has been added later. This antique portrait Is in good overall condition, ready to hang and be enjoyed by future generations within your family. Please see all photos.

Antique paintings (+100 Years) are "Duty Free" within the USA, Canada, Australia and the European Union, you should NOT be charged any additional taxes for import and duty. As nearly all items in the shop are over 100 years old and classified as “antique” or “antique art” the objects are considered “Duty Free”. Amsterdam Curated will provide the appropriate certifications for the customs officials to ensure all qualified items will be shipped with this “Duty Free” classification. In the UK, it is not "FREE" but there is a reduced VAT of 5% paid at import.

We've been running an online antiques and art business for many years now and have become specialists at packaging. All items will be packaged very carefully with the materials that are most suitable for the item.

A: As we do package all items very carefully with large amounts of quality packing materials, in the odd situation you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact our customer service team within 3 days of delivery with your order number and a description of the issue. We will provide instructions for returning the item at our expense and arrange for a replacement or refund.
