$1,161.00

A refined French still life by the painter Henri Émile Rogerol (1877–1947), depicting apples and pears arranged beside a rustic ceramic jug. A beautifully balanced early 20th-century oil painting presented in its elegant gilt frame. Apples and pears are arranged on a plate atop a soft tablecloth, accompanied by a rustic ceramic jug and a delicate glass.

The composition reflects the enduring French tradition of still life painting, where everyday objects are elevated through careful observation of light, form, and colour. Rogerol’s brushwork is gentle and confident, giving the fruit a natural weight and softness while maintaining a harmonious palette of warm reds, yellows, and earthy tones that were quite common in the Paris School in the early 20th century.

Good antique condition with age-related craquelure consistent with its period. Paint surface stable and well preserved. Frame shows wear and patina appropriate to age.
